condition at the hospital two days after the shooting

Melanie laughs to herself as Nathaniel continues to rant
about her absence from their campsite when he awoke
that morning. Legion would soon find them, and this proved 
the last time she smiled until well after the Army 
 helicopters arrived to evacuate them from Old
Hendersonville. In fact, she would not smile again
until Nathan smiled at her from his hospital bed.

now infamous "did you know that?" following Nathan's

angry account of Day 8 (obviously infuriated at

the direction the questions went). This was the first

public mention of the events, which transpired in

the abandoned apartment complex.
